After the BBB Accelerator: Dr. Mirna Mejia’s Next Chapter in Growth
From the BBB Ignite Accelerator to the FounderFuego® Community, Dr. Mirna Mejia’s journey shows what can happen when founders have a place to keep connecting, executing, and making intentional growth decisions after the cohort ends
Accelerators can create powerful momentum.
Founders gain new knowledge, meet new people, sharpen their businesses, and spend weeks or months surrounded by other entrepreneurs working toward something bigger.
Then graduation happens.
The accelerator ends. The business doesn’t. 🔥
That’s why FounderFuego® believes founders need an ecosystem where they can continue building after the accelerator, cohort, or entrepreneurship program ends.
FounderFuego® Community member Dr. Mirna Mejia, PhD, ACC, ELI-MP, founder of Your True Canvas, an executive coaching practice that helps women over 40 prevent burnout, is a great example of what that journey can look like.
From BBB Ignite to FounderFuego®
We first met Mirna through the BBB Ignite Accelerator.
As a BBB Accredited and BBB4Good business, FounderFuego® is proud to be part of an ecosystem supporting entrepreneurs as they move through different stages of business ownership.
For us, the opportunity isn’t to replace the accelerator experience.
It’s to help answer the question that comes afterward:
What’s next?
After completing an accelerator, founders still have businesses to run, opportunities to evaluate, partnerships to build, revenue to generate, and plenty of decisions that don't fit neatly into a curriculum.
Mirna continued that journey by joining the FounderFuego® Community.
Keeping the Momentum Going
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Mirna has built a multifaceted career spanning psychology, therapy, coaching, leadership, and community impact.
Inside FounderFuego®, she became part of a community of growth-minded founders navigating many of the same real-world questions around growth, positioning, partnerships, revenue, and what comes next.
And we got to celebrate wins along the way.
🔥 One standout was Mirna attending our Q2 Fuego Boardroom session about corporate partnerships and then pursuing access to two referral networks for warm pipeline development and partnerships.
That’s exactly the kind of momentum we want founders to be able to continue building after structured entrepreneurship programming ends.
Not networking just to collect another stack of business cards. But real relationships that can lead somewhere.
Introductions that can open doors.
And a community that remains around after the graduation photos are taken.
Execution Doesn't Always Mean Doing More
There’s another part of Mirna’s story that we think is just as important.
Sometimes the best business decision isn’t to accelerate - it’s to focus.
As Mirna enters her next chapter, she’s making an intentional decision about where her energy belongs right now.
She plans to prioritize her therapy practice while continuing her work with a Portland-based nonprofit she advises.
Her coaching business isn’t going away. Instead, she plans to return to scaling it in 2027. That distinction and intention matters.
Entrepreneurship can create enormous pressure to launch the next offer, chase the next revenue goal, accept the next opportunity, and scale everything simultaneously.
But sustainable growth also requires knowing when to say:
Not yet.
Mirna is choosing where to focus today while keeping sight of what she wants to build tomorrow. That's growth, too.
The Accelerator Ended. The Building Didn't.
Mirna’s journey represents something FounderFuego® sees across the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Accelerators, incubators, cohorts, pitch competitions, and entrepreneurship programs can provide founders with incredible knowledge, relationships, visibility, and momentum.
But founders still need somewhere to go afterward.
A place to keep asking questions, keep building relationships, and talk about what’s actually happening in the business.
A place to celebrate the wins and work through the messy middle.
And sometimes, a place that helps you realize the smartest next move is to focus rather than accelerate.
That's the role FounderFuego® plays.
Celebrating Mirna’s Next Chapter
We’re celebrating with Mirna about what happened around the fire and what comes next.
From meeting through BBB Ignite, to joining FounderFuego®, to opening doors to new referral networks, to making an intentional decision about her next season, Mirna’s journey is uniquely hers.
And we're grateful FounderFuego® got to be one part of it. We’ll be cheering Mirna on in her next chapter.
And when 2027 comes and it’s time to turn the coaching fire back up? She knows where the Fuego is. 🔥
